NFL Week 4 Predictions: Early Game of the Year Edition

As it turns out, sleeping on the couch for 5 hours before going up to bed and sleeping for another 5 hours does not help you be that productive the next day. I’ve been running behind all day and just have a quick moment to get these picks out.

First, I can’t wait to see how Dolphins-Bills plays out as the early Game of the Year in the AFC. The 3 games last year were decided by 8 total points, and it could have been 3-0 one way or the other very easily instead of 2-1 Buffalo. While I don’t think Miami touches the 1950 Rams’ record of scoring 70 and 65 in back-to-back weeks, I think they score enough to win this first matchup in Buffalo, which can get revenge later in the season when Von Miller is back. But I have to say the Buffalo defense has been impressive so far. The Miami offense has just been better and has even more speed at running back this year with Devon Achane getting unleashed last week. Throw in Jaylen Waddle coming back and I’ll take the offensive team in a Week 4 game.

This week’s articles:

I was 5-1 on computer picks and 7-3 on props last week, so hopefully the picks won’t be shit this week.

NFL Week 4 Predictions

Figures, the first time I pick Green Bay to win a game this year and they played their worst game.

No strong feelings about the London game, which I’ll probably end up watching more of than expected since I got up so early today. Do I like a Calvin Ridley revenge game? Sure, the over at least should hit.

I really wanted to pick the Steelers to lose since it’s the first time they’ve been favored this year and they would be a team that would fall flat in a game like this. But I just think T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith against that OL can make C.J. Stroud, who is due for his first NFL interception, look like a rookie. I do like Nico Collins to put up numbers though.

I need a sportsbook to offer a 4th quarter comeback game prop, because it’s hard to bet that as spread and moneyline for the quarter don’t always get the job done. But I think it’d be hilarious if Carolina ended its 53-game streak of losing when trailing in the 4th quarter against Minnesota. Less likely to happen with Bryce Young instead of Andy Dalton, but I’m taking a chance and fading the Vikings with a 4.5-point spread.

Broncos vs. Bears is a real shit bowl, but I still think Russell Wilson and Sean Payton avoid going 0-4 and losing to a team that bad. Incredibly, the four 0-4 teams are all playing each other this weekend.

I think the Chiefs win a boring 20-9 game on SNF against the Jets.

I initially picked the Giants to win on MNF, but I think I’d stick with the over being the best pick there. The offense should find better success, but Pete Carroll usually has his team ready to play on MNF. I’m also beyond tired of seeing the Giants in these games.

I won’t rush through tomorrow night’s recap like I did this preview. Should be a fun day.
